Customer care
Accessibility
Aboen aims to make the US storefront usable for customers across devices, assistive technologies and input methods.
Accessibility standard
Aboen should target WCAG 2.1 AA as the practical storefront standard for layout, contrast, keyboard access, labels and content structure.
- Use semantic headings, links, buttons and form controls.
- Keep color contrast readable for product information, checkout steps and policy text.
- Avoid relying on color alone to communicate errors, availability or status.
Keyboard and screen readers
Customers should be able to browse, search, open product pages, manage cart quantities, sign in and complete checkout with keyboard and assistive technology.
- Interactive elements need clear names and focus states.
- Forms need visible labels or accessible names.
- Error messages should appear close to the relevant field and be readable by assistive technology.
Images and product media
Product imagery should include useful alternative text where images communicate product information.
- Decorative room illustrations can be hidden from screen readers.
- Product images should describe the product, not repeat generic words like image or photo.
- Videos or rich media should include captions or text alternatives when used for important product information.
Motion and performance
Animations should be restrained, fast and optional where possible. The storefront should respect reduced motion preferences and avoid motion that blocks repeated shopping actions.
Third-party checkout
Some checkout or payment steps may be provided by third parties. Aboen should select providers with strong accessibility practices and monitor reported issues.
Report an issue
Customers who experience an accessibility barrier should contact support with the page URL, device, browser, assistive technology if any, and a description of the issue.
- Support should log the issue and route it for product review.
- If a customer cannot complete checkout due to an accessibility barrier, support should provide an alternate assistance path.
